Cap Anamur first got active in Lebanon between 1983 and 1985. Further missions took place between 2005 and 2007. We are yet again present with another project started in 2016.

Situation in the country

Many Syrian refugees saved themselves from the war in their own country by crossing the border into Lebanon. Here they mostly live in huge camps without any economic security and with the uncertainty regarding whether when, or if, they will be able to return to their homes.

Many of these camps are located in the area of Sidon, south of the capital Beyrouth, and do not offer its dwellers sufficient medical care. Since consultations and medical treatments in the region’s health care structures are not free-of-charge for Syrian refugees, many remain without the necessary care, even in cases of acute illness.

Our goal

Guarantee medical care for Syrian refugees, based in the refugee camps in the Sidon area.

Our activities

We organize daily patient referrals from the camps in the Sidon area to cooperating health structures. We take charge of the applicable fees for diagnosis and treatment as well as for receipted medicines. Between 1,500 and 2,000 consultations a month are held via this arrangement.
